Metadata Policy

Renewable Energy, Biomass & Sustainability (REB&S) is committed to the accurate generation, management, preservation, and dissemination of metadata associated with its published content, in order to support discoverability, indexing, interoperability, citation, and long-term access.

Metadata Elements

For each published article, REB&S records and makes available essential metadata, including:

  • Article title
  • Author names
  • Author affiliations
  • Corresponding author information
  • ORCID iDs, when available
  • Abstract
  • Keywords
  • Subject areas or disciplines
  • Article type
  • Journal title
  • Volume, issue, year, and publication date
  • Page range or article identifier, when applicable
  • DOI or other persistent identifier, when available
  • Funding information, when applicable
  • License information
  • References and citation information, when applicable

Multilingual Metadata

REB&S promotes multilingual discoverability by requesting metadata in both English and Spanish, including title, abstract, and keywords. Authors are responsible for providing accurate metadata during submission, and the editorial team may review or adjust metadata for consistency, clarity, and indexing purposes.

Metadata Management and Quality

Metadata are entered and managed through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. The editorial team reviews metadata during the editorial and production processes to ensure that the information is complete, consistent, and aligned with the published version of the article.

Authors must ensure that names, affiliations, ORCID iDs, funding information, and other metadata are accurate at the time of submission and final approval.

Interoperability and Dissemination

REB&S uses OJS tools and metadata standards to facilitate the visibility, retrieval, and dissemination of its published content. Metadata may be shared with indexing services, academic search engines, repositories, directories, and persistent identifier registration systems, including platforms such as CrossRef and other academic databases where the journal is indexed, registered, or available.

Corrections to Metadata

If an error is identified in the metadata of a published article, authors or readers may contact the editorial team. Corrections will be reviewed and, when appropriate, updated in the journal platform and related metadata records.

Access and Reuse

Metadata associated with REB&S publications are made available to support academic discovery, citation, indexing, and dissemination. The use and reuse of metadata must preserve the accuracy of the original bibliographic information and properly identify the journal and published article.
