Termosolaridad Pasiva: un potencial marginado

Resumen

Hoy los combustibles fósiles representan más del 80% del suministro total de energía en la economía global. Para satisfacer la creciente demanda de energía de manera sostenible será necesario incrementar la capacidad de la generación por medios renovables con cara a la mitad del presente siglo. Los dos procedimientos convencionales para transformar la luz solar en energía utilizable son la vía fotovoltaica (PV) y la termosolar. La Energía Termosolar Pasiva (ETP), transfiere la energía solar a flujos de calor con aplicaciones útiles como la calefacción de espacios, edificios, superficies o agua. En este trabajo sugiero que el potencial de las tecnologías ETP ha sido poco valorado, y que los avances de su penetración en los mercados han sido crónicamente marginados en el escenario económico. Argumento que los esfuerzos de investigación en el campo están presentes, pero podrían estar siendo desfavorecidos por una falta de interés macroeconómico y poca atención de los organismos rectores en el campo de la política energético social a nivel global.
