Dr. Alejandro Alvarado Lassman

Dr. Alvarado-Lassman is Full Professor in the Research and Graduate Studies Division of the Tecnológico Nacional de México-Instituto Tecnológico de Orizaba, collaborating in the Doctor of Science in Engineering and Chemical Engineering Graduate programs.

He is a member of the National System of Researchers Level 2 (CONACYT), founding member of the Latin American Sustainable Development and Renewable Energy Association and member of the Mexican Bioenergy Thematic Network.
 
He is the leader of the research group on Environmental Process Engineering formed by 5 researchers. He has participated in more than 25 projects funded by various governmental agencies and private sector mainly in the areas of environmental biotechnology based on biological processes. 

​His research is focused on environmental engineering, interested in anaerobic digestion for the treatment of high load wastewater and organic solid waste from different sources, design of high organic loading reactors, constructed wetlands and biomass pretreatment techniques. Due to this activity, he has published more than 30 indexed articles, two patents granted and 4 pending, technological developments and technology transfers at industrial level.
 
He is a reviewer of indexed journals in the areas of sustainability, renewable energies, environmental biotechnology and waste management, and has done research internships abroad at the University of Massachusetts, INRA in Narbonne France and courses at MIT.
